I've heard that the new Wii Fit is a very useful game when it comes to exercise.
I myself am trying to loose a few pounds but I'd like to know if I can actually loose weight by playing the Wii Fit before buying it.
If anyone knows anything about how it may be helpful on loosing weight, please let me know in detail.

According to the Gadget Show, yes. Only thing is, you have to use it for as much time as you’d do a workout for.

i dont kno bout wii fit, but i do wii sport, and it feels like ive lost a couple of pounds playing it. i play tennis, and that is hard. i also play a game called playground, it has things like tetherball (hard), wallball, racing, paper air planes, and a bit of basketball. its great exercise. its really physical. try those. they r a great workout.

if you don;t already have some sort of activity in your life, it would be a good, fun way to lose weight. However, if you already do cardio and play real games you won;t see much of a difference except the fact you’re playing the games inside…

Well of course there is no free pass to weight loss, you should commit to wii fit. focus on strength training and aerobics for maximum results.

Wii Fit is a very enjoyable, and helpful tool in providing exercise to elderly or disabled people and it a good activity for people of all ages, but it comes secondary to actual physical activity. If you are having troubles motivating yourself to do daily exercise, try starting simple, like going for short walks everyday, eating lots of fruits, veggies, staying away from lots carbs and fats, and sleeping well each night. By doing this, you will see results in a short time, not only physiologically, but psychologically and emotionally as well.
Good luck!

Get it. It’s absolutely addicting, and VERY effective. I don’t even feel like I’m working out, but I’m always sore the next day from doing it. It has lots of games that make you feel like you’re just playing. It tracks your progress (I’ve lost 6 pounds in the last two weeks without dieting), and has lots more games you can unlock as you advance. Before you even realize it, you will have gotten a good workout and probably even overdone it a little! I’m 36 and can’t stop playing, and I have to fight with the kids to get a turn. Just get it, you won’t regret it!!!

I have found over the last month that I have used Wii Fit that you indeed can get a good workout. At first it is easy, but then you will open all the exercises and be more challenged. As you become more fit, you can add to the workout with some modifications, such as putting the balance board on a step or stable block 4-6 inches off the floor during the step aerobics or using straight legs and arms during the jack knives. You will get out what you put in to the Wii Fit. I like it because it shows the progress and amount of time left when I am getting tired or bored allowing me to have more control.
As far as losing weight, if a person increases their fitness level and amount of calories burned weight loss will happen ONLY if they control their caloric intake. In other words, you will only lose weight if you don’t overeat while increasing your amount of time doing exerting exercises.
